1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Burnout Pursuit, = Fun: This review is from: Need For Speed Most Wanted - Limited Edition (Xbox 360) (Video Game) When this game was announced I thought it was going to be a sequel to Burnout Paradise with the NFS name but I was wrong, this is a straight up open world NFS game borrowing elements from Burnout's multiplayer setup. Alot of the game features have been brought over from Hot Pursuit but thankfully they've left the problems with that game behind - poor handling and dodgy car spawning. The game starts with a complete open world and provides a seamless experience for changing cars, applying mods, paint jobs and for online play. The single player career is focused on facing and taking down 10 of the most wanted racers in the game's city of Fairhaven and you'll spend most of your time completing various types of events using many of the game's different cars, all of which you can earn mods on which can be changed during a race to help you win. The online aspect of this game is quite similar to Burnout where you can start up a freeburn and complete challenges and events in the city with up to 12 players, you can also complete the collectibles online as well as in your own world and you can leave your mark in your friend's word by placing a picture on the billboards if you can get the best jump distance. The NFS website allows you to upload a custom image if your gamer card picture isn't up to scratch! I've really enjoyed the game so far, has some great police chases when your 'heat' is at a high level, the handling and graphics are far superior to hot pursuit and beating your friend's various records while you're playing through the game is always good. Some of the negative reviews have mentioned things like a lack of cosmetic modifications - some car manufactures have told game developers that they don't want these cosmetic changes being included in the game so developers have agreed to this which is why this generation has seen a reduction in games allowing you to do this. Being able to switch your car whenever you want in just seconds is great compared to trying to find a junkyard and the game saves the most recent paint job you applied and the mods you've selected. If you liked either Burnout Paradise or NFS Hot Pursuit you will certainly enjoy this. 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful Pretty poor effort, = Fun: This review is from: Need For Speed Most Wanted - Limited Edition (Xbox 360) (Video Game) This game seems to mix Burnout Paradise with NFS: Hot Pursuit, but doesn't come close to bettering either of those games. The police chases are simply dull, there's none of the epic battles you can have in Hot Pursuit, they seem to be over pretty quickly, the police either loose sight of you or they 'box' you in and it all ends in an anti climactic fashion of you being busted which doesn't come with any penalty, it almost seems the police were an after thought. Oh yeh and there's no Cops V Robbers online, and no police appear in online sessions either. One big complaint I have is that there's no epic crashes, they are all pretty much the same, or exactly the same, there's NO crash cam. The only way to enjoy the crashes of the police or a rival that you've taken out is to look behind you, which usually results in you crashing. Crash damage is minimal, cars don't crumple or mangle like they did in Paradise. I think the manufactures didn't let them mangle the cars much (pathetic), the bumpers will hang off, wheels buckle and windows break and a few dents appear. Nothing like the awesome destruction in the previous Burnout Paradise which had so much variation in damage physics. The damage here is all very much scripted. I got bored of multiplayer quickly, it descends into bumper cars mostly and might appeal to those who like to just mess around with their friends, king of the hill was fun. EA's Autolog is back and it's as intrusive and annoying as ever! Overall I'd recommend picking up Burnout Paradise or Hot Pursuit (or both as they very cheap now) or wait till this game drops to a more sensible price of around
