The answer is no. I have a netbook PC, a Samsung galaxy phone and a Samsung galaxy 10.1 tab. I am pretty well connected to the cloud.Am I glad I dropped a C note on this puppy - you betcha. I opened the packaging and there it was. Powered it up. Android 4.0 with no bloatware forced on you by other tab manufacturers. I wend straight to the Google Play Store (I hate the new name for the App Store). Downloaded Skype. Got a "its not certified for this device message but will work OK - you may get a better image with a certified device" - whatever - it worked well. Called my parents in Australia no prob. Downloaded the Kindle app. Logged in and pulled down a free book for prime members that i had previously "bought". It was on the device in seconds. Added a memory card. The internal memory is named SDcard and the external is EXTSD. The file manager was easier to navigate for someone with moderate knowledge of a PC and files. The card is an 8BG from my phone - I am waiting on a 32GB for the new pup. The download directory of the card had the swype apk file on it. I touched it and it asked me to install. No problems. I use an FTP server on my PC to transfer files. Its easy to set up from youtube instructions in both vista and win7. I installed the app andFTP on the new 7" tab and I was downloading files in seconds. I dropped an 1GB rip of a TV show onto the device and started watching. No probs there either. With my wifi router 10 feet from me I was pulling in a file at 1200kbs/s - as fast as on any PC I have and comparable to the Galaxy Tab. Its not a Galaxy Tab. It does not have the screen resolution but its more than acceptable. The screen is bright clear, and responsive to touch and swype. It did have a lock up when I installed the card while it was powered up but that was resolved with a reboot and the card was instantly recognized. I attached a USB flash drive to the miniUSB port with an adapter and i was reading text files from it. No probs. I don't have a mini HDMI cable so I cant test the port. I cant ever see myself using it as a media player to an LCD TV but taking a cord, a flash drive with movies and the power adapter to a hotel is an idea for the future. I will look for a generic case and screen protector for it. At
