This review is from: Sony Vaio P11ZG 8-inch Laptop, Intel Atom Z520 1.33Ghz, 2GB RAM, 60GB HDD, Vista Home Premium (Green) (Electronics) After all the hype i finally bought it. I should have researched into it more as I have discovered that this computer is SOOO SLOW!!!!It's good for travelling but not if I want to do anything quickly as it takes 5 minutes to load up. Sony Vaio P 11ZG 8-inch Laptop, By This review is from: Sony Vaio P11ZG 8-inch Laptop, Intel Atom Z520 1.33Ghz, 2GB RAM, 60GB HDD, Vista Home Premium (Green) (Electronics) What an excellent light weight mini laptop. Ideal for travelling and with fantastic resolution for downloaded photo's. The only negative is the high initial purchase cost. Highly recommended. Great little travelling companion, By James (France) - See all my reviews This review is from: Sony Vaio P11ZG 8-inch Laptop, Intel Atom Z520 1.33Ghz, 2GB RAM, 60GB HDD, Vista Home Premium (Green) (Electronics) I have the 530 CH version (a US model), which has a 32Gb SSD and is thus much quicker than the HDD version, even with the horrible Vista Home installed. Boot up is about 30 seconds with this configuration but would be far quicker with Windows 7 or XP, which I shall be getting to replace Vista. The other advantage of the SSD is a much extended battery life - almost 3 hours at standard use setting with the standard battery but over 5 hours with the 4,800 Ah battery (well worth having).Yes the screen is small and characters tiny but extremely clear - at this size, you have to sacrifice something; I've adjusted the font size in the various applications, which works fine. Access to wireless networking is simple and very efficient. Build quality, as one would expect from Sony, is excellent. Downsides: The RJ45 socket is on the extension, not on the body of the PC, the speakers(even at this size) are puny. Other than these two, no complaints and a very contented user! Advice: if you can put up with a US keyboard, get the SSD version - it's much better all round than the HDD models. |
