The key things that I wanted was a High power processor, this has the new Ivy-Bridge generation of i7 processors inside. The Processor has 4 cores and 8 threads, this makes running high maintenance applications a breeze. I also wanted Nvidia graphics chipset so that I could take advantage of the new CUDA support inside of the Adobe suite. Anyway, performance wise the laptop is by far one of the best in its price range (trust me, i did a lot of research).This laptop features JBL stereo speakers, these are amazing for a portable device! Ok, they are not studio quality but they are amazing for a laptop. They are very rich sounding! the trackpad is very good and fueled with lots of multi-touch capabilites, however I don't use it much as i have the Logitech MX Performance Mouse. Battery life is pretty decent, I get about 2-3 hours on high performance mode and about 5 hours with it on standard mode sitting idle on my desk. The screen is a 15.6 display, the resolution goes up to 1920x1080, this is great for gaming and for video work! The Blu-ray drive works like a Blu-ray drive should, bare it mind it is only a Blu-ray reader not a writer, though it does still write DVD's and CD's. The SSD is mediocre, but I didn't really buy it for that. The OS doesn't come installed on the SSD which is a little bit of a downside, though the computer is so fast I don't think you would really see the difference. I have installed the adobe suite on the SSD and I have seen a slight improvement. It has a nice back-lit keyboard with full size keys and a numerical pad on the right side, this is great for typing in the dark. Gaming wise this laptop is pretty decent. I can play Battlefield 3 on high settings and get about 42FPS, which I didn't think was too bad. I have also played Sims 3 and Just Cause 2 on it and they run perfectly. However, if you wanted a monster gaming machine, I would go for a desktop rather than a laptop due the upgrade-ability and power difference, but if you are the average gamer like myself then this will suit you down to the ground. Overall, I think this laptop is amazing for the money, I worked 3 days a week all summer to get this and I have to say it was well worth it!
